Starting March 2025 Sultan School District families will have exclusive FREE ACCESS to in-person workshops for a new program called "READY! for Kindergarten" to prepare children for success in school. This is for families and caregivers of children from birth to age 5. They will get free materials and toys to learn with! Stay tuned for workshop dates to be announced in the new year.

The Sultan School District Board of Directors will hold a special board meeting on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, at 6 pm via Zoom to approve the winning bid for lighting replacement at Sultan High School and Sultan Middle School.
The Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at 6 pm in the Transportation Cooperative located at 32900 Cascade View Drive, Sultan, WA 98294, to review the agenda for the board meeting on Monday, December 9th, 2024. No voting action will be taken during this meeting. Thank you.

-The 11/12/24 Study Session is canceled.
-11/18/24 will be the only board business meeting in November. This is due to the Board of Directors attending the Annual WSSDA Conference in Spokane from 11/21-11/23.

Dear Sultan School District Families and Community Members,
We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you that our Superintendent, Dan Chaplik, will be retiring at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. We are grateful for his years of dedicated service to our district.
As we begin the process of selecting a new superintendent, the board is committed to being as transparent as possible. We value your input and invite all parents, guardians, and community members to participate in our superintendent search focus groups on October 22nd. Your feedback is essential in helping us choose a leader who will guide our district with dedication and vision.
There will be two locations for the community focus group sessions:

Tomorrow, October 15th, 2024 is the Culmback Dam Evacuation Drill for SHS, SMS, and SES. GBE does not participate since they would not be affected in the event of a real emergency with the dam. The weather would be evaluated in the morning and if deemed unsafe for the walk up the hill, the drill would be canceled and notification to everyone by 8, no later than 8:30 pm. If conditions are safe, the drill will continue like normal, beginning at 9:30 am. REMINDER: Please dress for rain just in case and wear close-toed shoes. Water will be provided at the top of the hill! Call 360-793-9800 if you have any questions or concerns.
A letter has been issued from the Sultan Middle School Principal regarding the incident this morning. Again, we appreciate everyone's quick action and cooperation. Good job and thank you!
SMS Fire Update 8:44 am: The fire department is still on the scene and finishing up its investigation. They have cleared the building and students will be let back into their classrooms to continue their day. Thank you for being so patient during this incident. *Update 8:20 am - The incident was isolated to one classroom. All students and staff have evacuated safely. We will continue to get information out as we know.
We are aware of a fire at Sultan Middle School. The fire department is on its way with the medic. We are following our standard evacuation drill protocol right now and will hold buses.
