The community survey closed on February 7th. There were 141 responses! Thank you to everyone who participated so far in the focus group sessions and responded to the community survey.

Our search for the next Sultan School District Superintendent is ongoing and we are excited to see what amazing candidates apply. This Friday, February 14th, the SSD Superintendent position that is posted online will close.

Wednesday, February 19th, the Board will meet in executive session with Northwest Leadership Associates (NWLA) to review the applicants.

The Board will be conducting preliminary interviews with our semi-finalists in executive session on March 1st. We will then select our three finalists. Then, each finalist will spend a full day in the district, ending with a public meeting to allow the community to meet with each candidate. There will then be a final interview by the board. These will occur on March 4th, 5th, and 6th.

The board will vote on their selection on the evening of March 6th, 2025.

A letter from the Sultan School District Board President, Gigi Gouldner

Dear Sultan School District Families and Community Members,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you that our Superintendent, Dan Chaplik, will be retiring at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. We are grateful for his years of dedicated service to our district.

As we begin the process of selecting a new superintendent, the board is committed to being as transparent as possible. We value your input and invite all parents, guardians, and community members to participate in our superintendent search focus groups on October 22nd. Your feedback is essential in helping us choose a leader who will guide our district with dedication and vision.

There will be two locations for the community focus group sessions:

• Monday, October 22nd, 6:30-7:30 pm, Sultan Middle School Commons
