Student Laptops
Through support of our community, the Sultan School District was able to purchase 1-1 student laptops in 2020. These laptops have touch screens and are sturdily built to withstand four years' worth of use. Students will receive a laptop in 5th and 9th grade to use at school and home for the next four years. Students in kindergarten through fourth grade will also have access to improved devices within the classroom. As a department, we strive to continue to support students' learning and provide them with equitable access to the tools needed in the 21st century.
2022-23 School Year
Students in grades 5-12 will check out a laptop to use at school and home. 5th Graders receive laptops during the first week of school in class. New or returning students in grades 6-12 that do not have a device can check one out from the library.
For your student to take home a device, families need to complete the laptop device agreement and technology responsible use forms within PowerSchool. If you do not already have a parent/guardian PowerSchool Account, please call your school's office to get set up.

After the form is collected, your student will be able to check out a laptop. Laptops will be returned at the end of 8th grade and 12th grade or when exiting the district.
You also may choose to purchase the Laptop Protection Plan annually. This helps cover costs associated with incidental damage. For more information, please reach out to your school's office.
If you have a child in grades pk-4 that needs a device at home, please reach out to your building's office to discuss options.
*if you are a student in one of our ALE programs (SVO, SVA, SP3), please reach out to your program administrator for assistance in getting a device.
End of Year Information
Students in grades K-4 with a laptop checked out need to return it to the library before leaving for summer.
Students in grades 5-11 with a laptop checked out will keep it through the summer to continue using it next year.
Families with a hotspot checked out may also keep it through the summer to continue using it next year.
Students in grade 12 with any device checked out must turn in all devices to the library before graduation.
Any student who is not returning to the Sultan School District should turn in all devices before leaving for the summer. If you unexpectedly move or decide not to return for the 2023-24 school year, please return the devices to the district office during the summer. Any device not returned will result in fines.
