On the Friday before Spring Break our ASB held a Swamp Ball Assembly! We had teams of students and staff battling to win at our "swamp" version of dodgeball while upbeat music played. Highlights: at one point almost all the students in the stands were belting out the lyrics to a song, some were dancing, and when during our last match it looked like the staff team might win- students came out of the stands to join the student team and lead them to a victory!

Our National Junior Honors Society (NJHS) is hosting a Breakfast Cereal Food Drive from 4/15-4/19. We ask that students bring un-opened boxes or bags of dry cereal, or boxes of hot cereal like oatmeal or cream of wheat to their first period class. NJHS will throw a Breakfast Party with cereal and milk for the class that brings in the most donations. NJHS will be taking a field trip to the Sky Valley Food Bank on April 22nd.
The Sultan School District Board of Directors will start having educational workshops on a variety of topics before board meetings for extra training due to a majority of new members. The first workshop will be at 5 pm on 4.8.24 for approximately 50 minutes and will cover the school budget process. It will be open to the public and streamed on our YouTube channel. ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! SSD Meet and Greet with the Superintendent and a Sultan School District Board member on April 11, 2024, @ 6 pm in the Kiss the Sky Bookstore in Sultan at 401 Main Street. A topic will be discussed but any topic is welcome to be brought by YOU! Let's talk.

Is your student missing a coat, sweatshirt, lunch box, etc? Ask them to check the lost and found area on the stage in the commons before we donate the items over spring break.

The Sultan School District has partnered with the Snohomish County Health Department to provide our district families and community members information on the Healthy Youth Survey, including what it is, how to interpret, and what our most recent results are.
Healthy Youth Survey: Helping Washington’s students thrive and lead healthier, happier lives.
The HYS focuses on a broad range of topics, including mental health, substance use, physical movement, social engagement and support, families, and school experience. The survey also includes questions about risk and protective factors, which are attitudes and opinions that research has shown are linked to health outcomes.
• The survey shows trends over time and helps parents, schools, and communities address issues impacting youth.
• Schools and districts get reports of their results – helping them understand their students’ needs.
• About 200,000 students in grades 6 -12 across the state take the survey every two years.
• Participation is voluntary and anonymous.
• Free for schools in Washington State.

SMS invites you to come enjoy the Spring Concert on March 20th at 7pm in the gym. Gustos Food truck will be serving woodfired pizza starting at 4pm. Part of the proceeds will go to Sultan Music Parents Association to help the music program. All are welcome!
Wrestling is wrapping up this week. What a great season Skyhawks!
The SMS spring sports season begins April 8th with Track and Field. All middle school grades can participate. All participants need a current sports physical; they are current for 2 years.

TSA Science Club members left for a TSA State Conference in SeaTac. TSA is a club that fosters engagement in STEM related careers. We are so excited for these students and can't wait to hear about their experience when they come back!
